Batch Capture
Batch Capture saves every tab in your current browser window to LoomBrain in one operation.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”- Open the LoomBrain extension popup
- Click Capture Window (shows the number of capturable tabs)
- Watch the progress bar as each tab is processed
- Optionally enable Close tabs after capture to clean up
The extension processes tabs sequentially, extracting content from each one and sending it to the API.
What gets captured
Section titled “What gets captured”Only HTTP and HTTPS tabs are captured. The following are excluded:
- Chrome internal pages (
chrome://,chrome-extension://) - Chrome Web Store pages
- New Tab pages
The tab count shown in the popup reflects only capturable tabs.
Discarded tabs
Section titled “Discarded tabs”Browsers may discard inactive tabs to save memory. If a tab is discarded or frozen, the extension automatically reloads it before extraction (with a 15-second timeout).
Progress tracking
Section titled “Progress tracking”The popup shows real-time progress:
- Progress bar with percentage
- Current tab title being processed
- Count of completed / total tabs
If you close and reopen the popup during a batch, progress resumes from where it left off.
Cancellation
Section titled “Cancellation”Click Cancel to stop the batch after the current tab finishes. Already-captured tabs are kept.
Close tabs after capture
Section titled “Close tabs after capture”Enable the Close tabs after capture checkbox before starting. Successfully captured tabs are closed after the batch completes. Failed or skipped tabs remain open.
This setting is persisted across sessions.
Final summary
Section titled “Final summary”After completion, the popup shows:
- Number of tabs captured successfully
- Number of tabs failed (content extraction or API error)
- Number of tabs skipped (closed mid-batch before extraction)
